Wonder values

Curiosity, adventure and the thrill of the new

The Wonder family brings together 7 core values: Wonder, Adventure, Curiosity, Exploration, Optimism, Risk-taking and Spontaneity. They share a theme, curiosity, adventure and the thrill of the new, and each puts the weight somewhere slightly different. If two or three of them feel true of you, this theme probably matters a lot in how you choose your work and spend your time.

The values in Wonder

Wonder

Wonder as a core value means staying open to being amazed by the world, from nature and science to small everyday things, and making room in your life to notice them.

Adventure

Adventure as a core value means seeking out new, exciting and slightly uncertain experiences, and valuing the person you become while you’re in the middle of them.

Curiosity

Curiosity as a core value means needing to understand the world and the people in it, asking questions and following them up until things make sense.

Exploration

Exploration as a core value means deliberately going beyond the familiar, into new places, fields and ideas, to discover what’s out there that you couldn’t see from where you were.

Optimism

Optimism as a core value means expecting good things from the future and acting on that expectation, looking for what can still be done when plans go wrong.

Risk-taking

Risk-taking as a core value means being willing to make considered bets when the outcome is uncertain, accepting that some will fail, in pursuit of things worth having.

Spontaneity

Spontaneity as a core value means acting on good ideas and invitations as they come up, and keeping room in your days for detours, surprises and last-minute plans.
